As part of the publishing of the O'Reilly 'Cloud Native Transformation' book, I co-designed a large number of illustrated patterns to complement the book, along with a brand identity and design for the supporting open-source website. Additionally, I designed a deck of colour-coded pattern cards to be used in workshops as a tool to aid in planning successful cloud migrations.
Due to the complex nature of the illustrated concepts, the patterns were created from a heavily simplified toolkit of icons, stripping back as much extraneous detail as possible. Following various tests and iterations, these cards were then grouped using strong contrasting colours to optimize functionality. This, in turn, became an integral part of the navigation of the website architecture.
The cards were sold and cross-promoted with the book as part of targeted ABM and sales campaigns, generating numerous marketing and sales-qualified leads
